We are a brilliant Class of Year 1 and 2 children who love learning and having fun. We have had an exciting start so far this year, with many fun activities about Florence Nightingale and ‘Whatever the Weather!’ We’ve got plenty of activities ahead of us and we will try to post some of these as the weeks roll by.
We have Outdoor PE on a Tuesday morning and Indoor PE on a Thursday morning (we need to remember to make sure our kit is labelled!)
We are encouraged to change our books by ourselves whenever we need to but our parents can come in after school to help us too.
We have Phonics homework and spellings every Thursday and this is due in on the following Tuesday. We also have ‘Exploring Our World’ homework (three-in-a-row) each half term where the children can choose from a selection of tasks.
We all really enjoy using Purple Mash and Bug Club in school, we have been given our usernames and passwords for these but if they get lost we know we can come and speak to Mrs Richardson.
Last week the Year 1 children really enjoyed their trip to Conkers. We were very lucky with the weather and enjoyed doing the 'Barefoot Walk'. We have also all written a fantastic 'Just So' story and have been learning how to do division.
This week we shall be doing some data handling in Maths, including tally charts and block graphs. In English we are looking at persuasive writing through a house advert.
Our EOW reports come out on Friday so you can see and read about what we have been up to this term for our topic work of 'Amazing Animals'.
Don't forget to wear green on Tuesday 20th March for Green Day and wear sport clothes on Friday 23rd March for Sports Relief!
