Sapphire is a Year 4 class based in the mobile classroom with classes Garnet, Emerald and Onyx.
We have lots of fun learning new things together with our teacher, Miss Redgate and this page is designed to keep you up to date with what we are learning.
Parents are always very welcome to phone or come and have a chat with Miss Redgate if there are any concerns or questions.
We have Outdoor P.E every Friday and on Tuesdays we have P.E. indoors. Miss Redgate is particularly fond of PE and all children are actively encouraged to participate.
Our homework is always issued on a Thursday and a letter for parents will always be included to explain the tasks. Spellings are issued every other week and we have a spelling test every two weeks on a Friday.
In Key Stage Two, the children are challenged with 3-in-a-Row homework every half term. This is a great chance for them to independently choose tasks, use their imagination and share their knowledge and we really value the work the children produce.
Sapphires are known for their sparkle and that is what we try to encourage in our class!
We aim to create a supportive environment in Sapphire Class where we learn to work together to the best of our ability. You are welcome to pop in to speak to me if you have any concerns or just have a question you’d like to ask.
This term we are going to find out 'Were the Romans really rotten?' We will be learning about what impact the Romans had on Britain at the time and looking at how they lived and what strange things they ate! As part of our Roman theme we are just beginning our new English Unit and are studying the book called 'The Escape from Pompeii,' which fits in very neatly with our Roman theme!
