Sapphire is a Year 4 class based in the mobile classroom with classes Garnet, Emerald and Onyx.
We have lots of fun learning new things together with our teacher, Miss Redgate and this page is designed to keep you up to date with what we are learning.
Parents are always very welcome to phone or come and have a chat with Miss Redgate if there are any concerns or questions.
We have Outdoor P.E every Wednesday and on Tuesdays we have P.E. indoors. Miss Redgate is particularly fond of PE and all children are actively encouraged to participate.
Our homework is always issued on a Thursday and a letter for parents will always be included to explain the tasks. Spellings are issued every other week and we have a spelling test every two weeks on a Friday.
Sapphires are known for their sparkle and that is what we try to encourage in our class!
We aim to create a supportive environment in Sapphire Class where we learn to work together to the best of our ability. You are welcome to pop in to speak to me if you have any concerns or just have a question you’d like to ask.
This term we are using Stone Age Boy to investigate, innovate and write our own setting descriptions.
This links with our Solid as a Rock EOW theme. We have been inspired by the images in the text and will be writing our own stone age setting description towards the end of the half term.
In music we are learning about Time. We are keeping the beat and using a metre of 2, 3 and 4.
Solid as a Rock
We are looking into and investigating the era of the Stone Age. We are looking at how people survived by hunting and gathering, where they settled and tools they developed. As part of our science through Solid as a Rock, we are exploring rocks and fossils.
